I saw a city salt truck actually salting this morning! I mean, it was salting the rec center parking lot and not the unsalted and unplowed city roads that people have to drive on to get to the rec center parking lot, but baby steps.
For the record, I live in northeast Ohio. I've lived in the same city for almost 10 years, and I have maybe seen 10 city snowplows/salt trucks in my time here. Two were sitting in the Steak N Shake parking lot. One was driving around when it was 50 degrees and sunny. The city takes an "If we ignore it, it'll go away" approach to snow removal, which is technically accurate but really inconvenient in the middle of December.
